Background

Arba was born and raised in Lockport, NY from the parents of Morries and Ann Gibson . In 1983 she received a full academic scholarship to attend Howard University in Washington, DC where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. She did an internship with General Motors in Detroit. She worked for Hewlett-Packard for 12 years in the Bay Area of California until she relocated her family to Atlanta to work full-time in her own business. She returned to Western New York in 2008 and is giving back to her community. She is currently married with 2 adult children.


Entrepreneur

Arba has been using Microsoft Office products since their launch in the late 80s. In 1996 she started her home-based printing and desktop publishing business while still working full-time and raising a young family. After only a couple of years she was able to leave her full-time job to spend her time helping other entrepreneurs.


In 1999 Arba started teaching herself how to design websites and grew her business by designing hundreds of websites for other entrepreneurs, professionals, home-based businesses, start-ups, small businesses, ministries, and organizations.


In 2001 Arba lead the Entrepreneur's Ministry at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. She grew the ministry to over 100 members. She held monthly meetings that included bible study, speakers, and fellowship. She published a monthly business directory, created and maintained the ministry website.


In 2003 Arba started publishing a monthly wedding magazine in Atlanta and provided marketing services for small business owners. Her services also included event planning and hosting monthly business networking meetings.


In 2009 Arba met Reginald Wallace and increased his knowledge of the Internet, marketing, websites, and printing. They partnered together to start Synergy Media Promotions to offer Printing Services, Website Solutions, Internet Marketing and Event Planning.


Volunteer

In 2015 Arba became the first woman (and minority) to chair the Buffalo Niagara SCORE chapter . She provides leadership, mentoring, marketing, training and business plan development for small businesses. She was also one of the hosts of SCORE Business Radio  on WUFO/Power 96.5.


Arba volunteers by selling media of the weekly sermons of Bishop Roderick L. Hennings at Zion Dominion Global Ministries . She is also a member and Web Master for Western New York Minority Media Professionals and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Buffalo Alumnae Chapter .


Servant

Arba has over 30 years of diversified experience in many areas of business such as sales, marketing, advertising, customer support, presentations, training, leadership development, program management, and database creation. In addition to being a Freelance Web Designer, she is a Social Media Strategist at LocalEdge and also provides customer support for clients with Internet Marketing – Websites, SEO, SEM, Social Media, Email Marketing, Reputation Management, etc.


Arba knows that God has truly blessed her with many talents and abilities. She is able to effectively relate to a variety of people and she has a passion to help others learn how to improve themselves professionally, personally and financially.
